- Shortbread Cookies

Classic Shortbread Cookies
made with only 3 ingredients, mouthwatering, buttery, and melt in your mouth delicious.
This is my Gramma sized recipe. - Twila

Combine in bowl:
I use my hands. Mixture is crumbled and soft.
2 cups butter
1 cup sucanat (optional: powdered in Vita-mix)
4 cups all purpose heritage pastry flour

Pat together and shape into logs, about 2” diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and let rest in fridge for 1 hour
( or more, up to next day, or store in freezer to bake later.)

Slice 1/4” thick and place on parchment lined baking sheets.
Bake at 325 degrees 10-12 minutes. Do not let them get brown.
Place on rack to cool.

optional flavors: add 1 teaspoon of lemon zest or cinnamon.
